The Amazing Digital Circus is an indie animated show about an odd group of players, who are forced to complete different bizarre missions. They can’t leave, don’t really need to eat, and some are losing their minds. But what were the stories that inspired this colorful prison? In this video I'll be tracing back to the possible and concrete inspirations for the show, and how these older stories shaped the one we love today. This is an in-depth video essay on the darker cruel inspirations behind The Amazing Digital Circus, from "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream" video game and short story, to "Popee the Performer" even including RWBY and ENA and other creepy digital favorites!

This is so ironic because I had to do a fake trailer using AI for one of my classes at my uni, and it was so freaking borring, and this trailers are just lame and infuriating. I seriously wonder what kind of job will ask me to do fake trailers using AI and a cheap video editor.

I have my own take on the evidence presented. With the Mists association to Fae, i dont think its mindless. I think its actions were of trickery and purpose. To consume, spesifically, the other mother. It wasnt trying to comsumed Coraline, but FORCE her into conflict with the other Mother, because it alone couldnt destroy her. Since in the books its shown that she stole a faeries soul, its possible imo thatbshe drew their ire. While the mist isnt benign by any means, why its avoided by the mice and even the cat. It has its own purpose, which is why Coraline could walk in it unharmed (when shes at the "borders" of the world.) Because it WANTS her alive. Unharmed, realativley, untill it has the Other Mother in its clutches. It stole her parents, again, to force her to fight the Other Mother. It didnt go away untill the Key was thrown into the fairy ring- given to *itself.* When it left completley. I think its a Fae in and of itself, manipulating, tricking, everyone involved so it could consume the one who thought she could get away with consuming a fae soul. Coraline unlocking the door simply caught its attention as to a new pawn to use in its attempt.

So I watched "The Coraline Cat Theory" from Maximo Escos channel and he had a somewhat similar theory. He theorized that that cat was actually a witch who was there to protect the children (more in depth than that ik). But, these points make a lot of sense too. I think if you combined these theories it would make a lot of sense. I recommend watching that video because Maximo had a lot of valid points.

In the cheap animated version that I watched as a child, the huntsman cut the wolf's belly with scissors, took out both granddaughter and grandmother safe, and sewed up the belly with stones inside! Buuut, instead of falling d*ad when trying to escape, the wolf would left the house calmly after waking up - no one was near anymore I guess - bent down to drink water from the river and the weight of the stones pulled him down, dr*wning him. They just merged the ends haha! And, well... I didn't think of Red Hood THAT way before... It makes some years, over a decade? That I least heard the story. You can tell I couldn't understand it properly since I didn't just learned about the "red hood maturing" maybe like 10 years ago.

I love how disconcerting it is to finally realize there was something unsettling in the backgrounds of a movie after. I really appreciate creators taking the time to add something subtle in the background. Something that won’t mess up the story if you miss it, but adds some extra context if you do see it.

What a massive unnecessary retcon of a beloved franchise. I usually wouldn't criticize a storyteller for putting a sociopolitical message into their work. Some of the best works throughout humanity history had sociopolitical messages. But the best ones were usually subtle, and one thing the modern activist storytellers seem totally incapable of is subtlety. They basically turned 'Nightmare Before Christmas' into the 'Divergent' franchise but with stop-motion holiday themed characters. These modern activist storytellers even completely dismissed the franchise's main protagonist as just a self-absorbed narcissist for the crime of being male. Never mind that he's shown to have the ability to self-reflect on his behavior and better himself, not to mention put himself in harm's way to help his friends and fix his mistakes. He's just not paying attention to Sally, and that makes Sally big sad. Sally's feelings are taking center stage to drive the plot, rather than actually using the character development from the first film as a jumping-off point. She needs to feel much the same with Jack as she did with Doctor Fink, because if she was remotely satisfied there wouldn't be a female-driven story to tell. At least not in the eyes of the activist storytellers, because female characters can only achieve greatness by abandoning oppressive pursuits like marriage. [Sarcasm heavily implied] Then the story makes the mistake of blowing its load by opening up all the doors, which should have remained in reserve for future stories if they were planning on continuing the spinoffs. Whoever created this tale basically said screw all the storytellers who come after me, I'm opening all the doors and making them all seem trivial. Then because they had to stomp all over western traditions with that, they had to create new doors because they weren't creative enough to properly utilize the ones provided to them. This is hack writing.

I think at the beginning of the movie when belle and Gaston are talking belle doesn’t really see him as evil, just an annoying person who gets in the way. When Gaston first quote unquote “proposes” she says , “I don’t deserve you.” Not necessarily a hell no not in a million years, but just a thanks but no thanks kind of rejection. Belle got a happily ever after because she deserved it. Gaston didn’t get his because he didn’t really know what he wanted. To Gaston, Belle was basically another antler in his decorations, a trophy, something to brag about to his friends. He didn’t necessarily want her as his wife, but rather want her as his wife just so he could say she’s his wife.
